GTS sponsors ATMOsphere MAC Summit 2024: Advancing Natural Refrigerants in mobile applications

gts sponsors atmo summit

We are pleased to announce that GTS is among the sponsors of the ATMOsphere MAC Summit 2024. The ATMOsphere MAC Summit is a joint event between ATMOsphere and the Chair of Heat Transfer and Heat Conversion of the Technische Universität Berlin, which will take place on September 12 and 13.

The program will feature presentations on the state of the art in cooling and heat pumps with natural refrigerants for mobile applications, as well as on optimal thermal management for electric vehicles with natural refrigerants. The conference will focus on the implementation and scalability of CO2 and propane in mobile applications, including air conditioning and heat pumps for cars, buses, trucks, and trains. The latest research and market trends will be explored, as well as recent technological innovations in the development of compressors, evaporators, condensers/gas coolers, and chillers.

Through technology case studies, applications of CO2 and propane in various mobile contexts will be presented. Methods for the implementation of heat and work recovery, system controls, and safety aspects, as well as architectures for reversible air conditioning and heat pump systems, will also be discussed. Additionally, strategies for refrigerant charge reduction and compressor lubrication will be analyzed. Finally, the conference will address regulatory developments, including the PFAS restriction proposal, EU F-gas regulation, and the MAC directive.

The conference will provide an exclusive and detailed overview of the latest research and technological trends based on natural refrigerants in all mobile applications.

Leading OEMs will share their experiences in using natural refrigerant technologies, including benefits, challenges, and future plans. Key representatives will discuss the latest developments in terms of the PFAS restriction proposal, EU F-gas regulation, and the MAC directive

They will explore their interconnections and the impact on natural refrigerants in Europe. These debates will help to better understand how such regulations will influence the sector and to outline strategies for the effective and safe implementation of natural refrigerants in mobile applications.
